Multipurpose K9s
With over 40 dogs at our kennel, Integritas houses single, dual, and multipurpose dog. We start with a canine that will do the job. There is a right canine for the right job. Just like people, some want to work, and others do not. Some dogs want to bite, some want to sniff. The majority of our K9s are Belgium Malinois, bred for high intensity jobs.
Statistics
Dogs have nearly 220 million smell-sensitive cells over an area about the size of a pocket handkerchief (compared to 5 million over an area the size of a postage stamp for humans)
Dogs can distinguish two different types of scents when trailing, an air scent from some person or thing that has recently passed by, as well as a ground scent that remains detectable for a much longer period.
Nort documentation
All of the Integritas K9s are certified through National Odor Recognition Testing (NORT)
Before becoming an Integritas narcotic and explosive detection K9, the K9s must sucessfully complete NORT which tests their location and detection abilities of controlled substances and explosives in various scenarios and simulations.
Types of detection canines
Most detection canines are trained the same way, just taught with different odors. In addition to narcotic and explosive identifying dogs, canines can also be trained to detect fruit, cadavers, and cancer.
